Performance (from your own records)

The equity curve is sampled on every fill and every 5 minutes while the page is open. Max drawdown is the largest fall from a peak on this curve. Win rate and average win / loss count each closing fill (spot sell, futures reduce, close, TP, SL or liquidation) by its P&L after fees.

⚙️ Fees, liquidation settings and data

Defaults follow Binance's regular tier (spot 0.1%, futures taker 0.05% / maker 0.02%). Actual fees vary with VIP tier and discounts. Changing the maintenance margin rate immediately changes the liquidation price of open positions.

All records are stored only in this browser (localStorage) and never sent to a server. Use export / import to move them to another device.

Reset account

Clears holdings, positions, orders, history and the equity curve, and starts over with the virtual balance you choose. Fee settings and your streak are kept. Export first if you may want them back.

What this tool does

Paper trading with live Binance prices and a virtual USDT balance (10,000 by default; choose 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000 when you reset). Spot covers market and limit buys and sells with per-coin average cost and unrealized P&L. Futures imitate USDⓈ-M perpetuals: long and short with isolated margin, 1–50x leverage (5x by default), limit entries, take profit and stop loss, partial closes and a liquidation price. Fees are deducted, and you get total equity, an equity curve, a trade history and stats such as win rate and max drawdown computed from your own records. These are virtual funds, not real trading, and not investment advice. Everything stays in this browser on this device.

How it is calculated

Prices come straight from Binance's public spot USDT API and WebSocket. On open the page loads 500 candles for the chart coin and one 24-hour ticker for the chart coin and every coin you hold, have orders in or hold a position in. After that a single combined stream delivers the forming chart bar (about every 2 s) and those coins' last trade price (miniTicker, about every 1 s). If the connection drops it reconnects after 1, 2, 4… s (up to 30 s); after three failures in a row it tries a backup host, and if that fails too it polls every 10 s. Fill rules: market orders fill in full at the last trade price received (order book depth and slippage are not modelled). A limit buy fills at its price when the last price reaches or falls below it, a limit sell when it reaches or rises above it, and pays the maker fee. A limit that is already better than the current price when you place it fills immediately at the current price as a market order and pays the taker fee, as on a real exchange. Default fees follow Binance's regular tier (spot 0.1%, futures taker 0.05% / maker 0.02%) and can be changed in settings. Futures liquidation price (isolated, single maintenance margin rate mmr, default 0.5%): long = (entry − margin ÷ qty) ÷ (1 − mmr), short = (entry + margin ÷ qty) ÷ (1 + mmr). Fees and funding are not part of this formula. Liquidation, TP and SL are judged on the spot last price, not a mark price. Total equity = available balance + funds locked in orders + holdings at market value + Σ(margin + unrealized P&L).

Simulation rules in detail

Spot: average cost, fees and realized P&L

For a spot buy the amount you enter is the total including fee (qty = amount ÷ (price × (1 + fee rate))). The fee is taken from your USDT balance, not from the coins received (on Binance it can come out of the coin or be paid in BNB). Average cost is the weighted average buy price excluding fees, and unrealized P&L is market value − cost − buy fees. On a sale, realized P&L = proceeds after the sell fee − the cost and buy fees of the quantity sold. The minimum order is 5 USDT.

Futures: one-way mode, isolated margin, leverage

Each coin has a single position (one-way mode). Adding in the same direction averages the entry price by quantity and adds margin; an opposite order first reduces the position and opens the other side with any remainder. Position size = margin × leverage, qty = size ÷ price, opening fee = size × fee rate, and the fee comes from your balance separately from margin. The 'on margin' return on a card is unrealized P&L ÷ margin. The leverage shown is entry size ÷ margin, so it becomes an average if you scale in. If the maintenance margin rate is at least 1 ÷ leverage the position would be liquidated at once, so the order is blocked.

Order of TP, SL and liquidation

Every new price first checks that coin's limit orders, then the position's liquidation, SL and TP. A long triggers when the price is at or below liquidation or SL, or at or above TP; a short is the mirror image. TP and SL close the whole position at that price and pay the taker fee (a real stop-market can fill worse in a fast move). If the price jumps past several levels at once (including when you reopen the page), the level nearest the previous price — the one it would have met first — is applied. The preview warns when a stop loss sits beyond the liquidation price, where liquidation could come first.

Performance and record keeping

The equity curve records total equity on every fill and every 5 minutes while the page is open; beyond 1,500 points the older part is thinned by dropping every other point. Max drawdown is the largest fall from a peak on that curve. Today's P&L is measured against the equity recorded just before local midnight (or the first value seen that day). Win rate, average win and loss, payoff, total realized P&L and total fees accumulate per closing fill (spot sell, futures reduce, close, TP, SL or liquidation), with opening fees included in the P&L. The history table keeps the latest 1,000 fills, but stats are cumulative from the start. The browser tab title shows your current equity.

What is not modelled

Order book depth and slippage, queue position and partial fills, funding, mark and perpetual prices (spot prices are used), maintenance margin tiers and leverage caps by coin and size, liquidation fees and the insurance fund, cross margin, exchange tick and step size rounding, and fills while the page is closed are not reflected. The same trades can therefore turn out differently in reality. The numbers here are a practice record and say nothing about future returns.

Things to know

Frequently asked questions

Is this connected to real money or a Binance account?

No. These are virtual funds and nothing is really traded. Only public prices are read from Binance — there is no login, no API key and no order is ever sent. Your records are stored only in this browser's localStorage and never sent to a server.

When exactly does a limit order fill?

When the last trade price (received about every second) is at or below your price for a buy, or at or above it for a sell, the whole order fills at your price and pays the maker fee. Queue position and partial fills are not simulated. While the order is open, a spot buy locks its USDT, a spot sell locks the coins, and a futures order locks its margin plus fee.

How is the liquidation price calculated? Is it the same as Binance?

It is the price at which margin + unrealized P&L equals maintenance margin (mmr × qty × price) under isolated margin: long = (entry − margin ÷ qty) ÷ (1 − mmr), short = (entry + margin ÷ qty) ÷ (1 + mmr), with mmr 0.5% by default. Binance uses maintenance margin tiers by coin and position size, the mark price, and fees and funding, so the real liquidation price differs. On liquidation you lose the position's entire margin (no separate liquidation fee is charged).

Is funding included?

No. Real funding depends on each symbol's 8, 4 or 1-hour interval and the actual rate at that time; rather than make numbers up, the tool leaves funding out. Futures P&L and liquidation prices are therefore computed without funding, and the gap to reality grows the longer you hold.

Why does futures mode use the spot price?

To get the chart and every coin you hold over a single WebSocket, the tool uses the spot last price. Perpetual and mark prices usually differ from spot by around 0.1% (the basis), so entries and liquidation timing can differ slightly from Binance's futures screen.

What does the streak count?

A day counts if you placed or cancelled an order, closed a position or set TP / SL. It continues if your last decision was today or yesterday; skip a day and it restarts at 1 with your next decision. It has nothing to do with profit and there are no rewards.
